Course Description: This course will look at three of the major causes of loss in mature and senior cats, hyperthyroidism, chronic renal disease, and chronic small bowel disease. The emphasis on each disease will be on diagnosis and the treatment options. Each will be approached from the perspective of a primary care practitioner with treatment options that are achievable in the primary care setting.

Dr. Gary D. Norsworthy has been in private practice for 46 years, including 21 in feline-only practice. He is the owner of Alamo Feline Health Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he practices full-time. In addition to practice, he lectures frequently on feline diseases and is the editor and major author of seven feline textbooks. He is a charter Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in the Feline Practice Category and an Adjunct Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University and the Western University of Health Sciences.
