Intravenous fluid therapy is the standard of care at all levels of practice, whether it is used for dieresis, rehydration, or emergency therapy. However, the medical team must develop clinical diagnostic protocols that evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and monitoring for secondary disease concerns.
